terrorist activity

The kids got new trick-or-treating bags. Fiona really likes hers. She especially likes hers on her head (she and Ian have a real liking for weird accessories). The pics that I got made me think of a terrorist hostage, I'm so glad she was able to escape.

if i only had a brain

We went to see the scarecrows along Main Street this past weekend. The boys have been wanting to go for a while now, especially to see the Jack Skelington scarecrow. It was very well made and they really wanted to get a picture of it. When we finally got a chance to go, Jack was gone. There were many other amazing scarecrows, the Edward Scissorhands and Black Knight from Monty Python were some definite favorites. Fortunately, the had the scarecrow from Halloween Town, so the boys weren't too disappointed. Next time I'll have to make sure I get there earlier.

a fun read

Ian loves to entertain, and has found a great way to do so by 'reading' the David book. We had him do it for our literacy class, Grandma Deanie, Grandpa, Grandma Johna, Grandma Davis and Karen. Austin might try to get him to read it to his 5th grade class and I'm sure Ian would be happy to do it. So we taped it for all of you that aren't around for your own personal performance. Enjoy.

chickens, pumpkins and goats, oh, my!

love the belly? we have 3 weeks left and counting! yeah!

This past Saturday we went to the Country Farm Fest in Payson. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a really great time. We played in the petting zoo. And the boys became professional chicken catchers (watch out Enterprise, next year we're going to be ready for your chicken round up). Fiona liked the pygmy goats and the calf. They all had a great time riding the ponies; Fiona made it around twice before trying to bail out. They rode the train and played in the hay maze. We also had a great time looking at the tractors. It was a good afternoon spent with the kids.
This past Monday we went to the Big Red Barn in Santaquin to pick out pumpkins. The boys have been looking forward to this all month. They love the tractor ride and to run through the pumpkin patch. We got there a lot later that we have in past years so I couldn't get the amazing fall pics that I usually get. But we still got some fun memories. Austin & I just love spending time with the kids, they are so much fun. And their excitement and amazement is very catching. It's wonderful to relive such childlike activities with our own children.

creating satisfaction

I've been crocheting a lot more lately (see previous blogs for the hats I've been forcing on my children). It's been great and I've gotten a lot more daring. I decided to recreate a sweater that I saw on a little girl at the grocery store. I just LOVED it, but when I asked the mom said she had bought it several years before and couldn't remember where. Well, it seemed pretty simple so I thought I'd try one for Fiona. I am so excited with the way it turned out (it helps that Fiona makes everything look darling), and I'm trying to decided what color I want to make the next one for myself. Here's some pics, enjoy.
