It's still January... I always feel like this is one of the longest months of the year. Now that all the hustle and craziness is over it's nice to settle into routine again, but it also gets dull pretty quick since we can't get outside.
Yesterday we went for a walk and it really gave me a yearning for spring weather. I want to be outside feeling the sun.
For FHE we've been studying the "For the Strength of Youth" pamphlet. We just recently did gratitude and it was a fun lesson. We had a fun activity thinking of things we are thankful for that start with the letters T-H-A-N-K Y-O-U. This is what we came up with:
Tractors & Trees
Home & Horses
Animals & Apples
Nests
Kindermusic & Knowledge
Yellow & You
Octopus & Our family
Underwear & Umbrellas
The other day we brought out the dress up box to help combat the boredom that is starting to set in around here. Lydia went straight for the princess stuff and was good enough to pose for a picture.
We've also added a new friend to our chaotic zoo (I'm blaming it on cabin fever). I brought home a pug named Scooter last week and he has really worked his way into the childrens' hearts. They've been wanting a puppy for a long time, but I am against the toy chewing and other awful behaviors that puppies have to grow out of. So a small dog seemed more feasible and Scooter is great. He's so easy going and just the right size to play with. He also snores and snorts, it's great.

Boredom busters are needed during January... can't wait until Spring peeks through! I will have to send you some fun blogs I follow that have "preschool" activities... you can adapt them to whatever age but they keep Isabelle busy and occupied and they are pretty easy to just print off. Some of them even do a whole lesson plan and all you have to do is print off a few things - it's great and free!
that would be great! thanks you always have great ideas.
